No rent, no room bookings, no chasing payments from students. You teach; we handle the admin around it.
Good with beginners, easy to be around
Most people who come through our doors have never had a proper dance lesson. The teachers who do best with us are the ones who can make a nervous room relax in the first five minutes, break a move down three different ways, and still keep the energy up for the whole session.
Technical skill matters, of course, but so does warmth. A hen party wants to laugh, a couple planning their first dance wants reassurance, and a weekly class of adults wants to feel they’re improving. If you can read a room and adjust to it, we’d like to hear from you.
You’ll plan your own sessions. We don’t hand teachers a script or a fixed routine; you know your style and your students, and you build the class around the people in front of you.

What you’d actually be teaching
Private hen classes
One group, usually on a weekend afternoon, anywhere from a handful to thirty people. Themes run from Grease to Beyoncé, and you shape a routine they can film by the end. Most bookings are ninety minutes.
The hen themes →Adult weekly classes
Regular sessions in one of twenty styles, started when enough people on the interest list want the same thing. A steady slot in your week, with the room and the sign-ups handled for you.
The class styles →First dance lessons
Private hours with one couple, working to their song. Patience is the whole job here: most couples are nervous, and your calm is what they remember on the day.
Wedding lessons →Teachers wanted in each of these
These are the weekly class styles people in Dudley ask us for. If you can teach one well, you can apply; if you can teach several, even better, because it means more offers of work.
Hen classes draw on a lot of these styles too, so a salsa, Bollywood or line dance teacher might also pick up themed Saturday bookings. Teach something that isn’t listed? Apply anyway and tell us about it.

Freelance, not a franchise
We book the room
Rooms around Dudley town centre, hired and paid for by us, with a floor that suits dancing.
We find the people
Hen enquiries, class interest lists and couples all come through us, so you never have to sell a place.
You plan and teach
Your own music, your own structure, your own way of getting beginners moving.
You get paid
An hourly rate from £23, agreed in writing before the first session, and paid for every session you teach.
Do I need my own premises to teach for Dudley Dance Centre?
No. We hire the rooms, pay for them and book them around your agreed times. You turn up, teach and go home; there’s no rent, no membership to sell and no studio to look after.
How much does a teaching job in Dudley pay?
Rates start at £23 an hour and are agreed with you in writing before the first booking. Longer hen sessions, wedding blocks and regular weekly slots are all paid on the same clear basis, so you know the figure before you say yes.
Can I teach hen classes only and skip the weekly sessions?
Yes. Some teachers only want the occasional Saturday hen class, others want a fixed weekly slot, and some prefer private first-dance lessons. Tell us what suits you on the form and we only offer work that matches.
Is a teaching qualification required to apply?
A recognised qualification helps, but it isn’t the only route in. Solid experience of teaching adults, a friendly manner with total beginners and reliability matter just as much. We talk it through on the phone.
What happens after the application form is sent?
A person reads it and phones you to talk about your styles, availability and the kind of groups you enjoy. If it’s a good fit, we agree a rate and start offering sessions that match your diary.
Can I apply if my style isn’t on the list?
Please do. The list reflects what people ask for most in Dudley, but requests change, and a teacher with the right style already on file is who we call first when something new comes up.
